Dog boarding FAQs Your questions, answered

The questions families ask before a first stay at our home-based dog boarding in Midlothian, VA, from meals and sleep to emergencies.

01

Your first stay

How requests, meet-and-greets and first nights work.

  • Send a stay request with your dates and a few details about your dog. Every booking starts as a request: we check availability and confirm with you directly by text, call or email as soon as we can. A 20% deposit then secures your dog’s reservation.

02

Daily life

Meals, sleep, play and the updates you can expect.

  • Your dog eats the food you pack, on the schedule and in the amounts you give us. Keeping their usual food also helps avoid upset stomachs. We give treats only with your permission.

03

Health and emergencies

Vaccinations, medications and what happens if something goes wrong.

  • All dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough) and DHPP (distemper, hepatitis/adenovirus, parainfluenza, and parvovirus) before boarding. Puppies must have their age-appropriate vaccinations. Please provide current vaccination records before your dog’s stay.

04

Booking and payments

Rates, deposits, cancellations and drop-off times.

  • Not yet. A request lets us check availability. Your stay is booked once we confirm your dates with you and you pay the 20% deposit that secures your dog’s reservation.

Kind words from families

Real reviews from Chasing Cattle clients, in their own words.

  • Lucky took care of our two pups while we were on an extended trip in Europe! Not once did we worry whether they were in good hands. As always, we highly recommend Lucky!

  • Lucky took great care of maple for us when we were out of town and did a great job with communication and sending photos. We are already lined up to use them again in 2 weeks

  • We are forever grateful to have found Lucky and Matt! I always get so nervous when we leave on long trips, and well....NO MORE! Our energetic and friendly golden, Murphy, LOVED his time with them and made so many new dog buddies! They have a huge yard and warm and loving home and always sent many photos and updates each day. It made me so happy to see him having fun! We can’t wait for his next visit!
